As someone who recently stayed at Ocean View Hotel Los Angeles during a visit to Santa Monica, I can say the hotel lives up to its name, providing stunning views of the Pacific Ocean right from your room.
But that's not all; this hotel has helpful staff and amenities you need for a comfortable stay, including a business center for those who need to stay connected while staying at Los Angeles.
In this Ocean View Hotel Los Angeles review, I'll provide an honest assessment of the hotel’s facilities, services, and overall value that put it among the best LA hotels with balconies.

The Ocean View hotel's décor is tastefully designed, showcasing lovely waterfalls that welcome guests upon arrival.
The blue color scheme used throughout the hotel's interior gives it a serene atmosphere that is reminiscent of the nearby Santa Monica Ocean.
The trees and plants that adorn this Santa Monica hotel add to the beach ambiance, making it the perfect destination for those seeking a tranquil and relaxing vacation.
Ocean View Hotel Los Angeles Review
Upon arrival at the boutique hotel, I was greeted by the friendly staff who made the check-in process a breeze. I was shown 3 different types of rooms to choose from.
Standard
The first one was a standard room which came with either two double beds or one king bed. It had all the amenities that I could want from a hotel in LA, including a 40-inch flat screen tv, free wi-fi, air conditioning, a work desk and chair, and a coffee maker.
However, I was told that this type of room did not offer a balcony or an ocean view hence I didn’t pick it.
Standard with Balcony
The second type of room that I was shown is the Standard with Balcony. This room had all the amenities of the standard room such as two double beds or a king-sized bed, free wifi, etc but also offered a private balcony.
The balcony is a great addition as it will allow you to enjoy the fresh ocean breeze. However, this too didn’t have an ocean view but just a LA city view.
Ocean View with Balcony
The real gem of the hotel was the third type of room I picked, the Ocean View with Balcony.
This room had everything that the other two rooms had double beds, Wi-Fi, TV, etc. but with the added bonus of a stunning ocean view.
From the moment I stepped into the room, the views of the Pacific Ocean blew me away.
The balcony provided an even more panoramic view of the ocean, and I found myself spending most of my time on the balcony, sipping coffee and reading a book, and enjoying the scenery.

Ocean View Hotel Location
Ocean view hotel is in downtown Santa Monica which is a great location to stay. Its full location is 1447 Ocean Avenue, Santa Monica, CA, 90401. Santa Monica Pier is 8 minutes walk from it, Santa Monica Beach and Venice Beach are within walking distance and Los Angeles is a 14 minutes drive.
There are great restaurants such as Ivy, Palisades Park, and even a mall close by. Popular attractions like the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Beverly Hills, or famous sunset strip are also only a short drive away.
Property Amenities
My room in the Hotel Santa Monica was spacious and had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay.
The minibar was stocked with delicious snacks and drinks, the 40-inch flat-screen TV was perfect for winding down after a long day of exploring the city, and the coffee maker was a lifesaver for early mornings.
The toiletries were also a nice touch, and the free WiFi and air conditioning made my stay even more enjoyable.
