As a younger adult my dream has been to visit Hyatt Regency Hotel in Downtown Dallas next to the iconic Reunion Tower and within walking distance from Union Station. As a business and leisure tourist as well as a native Texan, this hotel has always been visually intriguing on most of my expeditions to Dallas but I never gave it a review. So I was more than happy to finally get a feel and touch of what this huge hotel offers.
I was very pleased with my first visit, especially when I discovered its convenient, great location that offers easy access to Dallas landmark attractions and amazing dining choices. On top of that, the hotel’s state-of-the-art property amenities exceeded my expectations both as a leisure and business traveler.
As a result, I decided to craft this comprehensive Hyatt Regency Dallas Texas review to share with you my overall experience with one of the best hotels located in Downtown Dallas.
Hyatt Regency Dallas Texas Review: A Quick Overview
A 28-story and 1,120-room hotel located in Downtown Dallas, Hyatt Regency is just a short walk to the Reunion Tower, the city’s landmark observation tower in the Dallas, Texas, Reunion District. Hyatt Regency Dallas Hotel offers a gateway to all the city’s best things. I have found from staying at this hotel that it’s a perfect destination for leisure and business travelers alike, as you can live, work, and enjoy yourself.
The hotel’s convenient downtown location means that public transportation isn't an issue, as guests can take advantage of the area's great road network and lots of air and train station options. The Dallas Hyatt Regency is near the Convention Center, though it doesn't have a direct connection to it like the Omni Dallas Hotel, and is within walking distance of numerous tourist attractions, which include the Historic West End and Dealey Plaza.
The facility frames the Dallas skyline thanks to its unique building that has become the city’s popular symbol. Embellished with futuristic exteriors, this accommodation destination is a convenient mainstay, competing with many other luxury hotels in Downtown Dallas.

Good Location: In the Heart of Downtown Dallas
The location of Dallas Hyatt Regency is hard to beat as it is next to some of the city's iconic landmarks. In the city center, there is lively nightlife outside Dallas Hyatt Regency's door, and if you decide to forgo one of the facility's multiple dining options, you’ll always find something that blends smoothly with your needs and requirements.
The property is also a few steps from the Trinity Railway Express and the Union Station, where I always found access to red and blue DART bus lines. A 25-minute drive northwest led me to the Dallas Airport whenever I wanted to get around.
Property Highlights
In my experience, Hyatt offers everything to make every guest’s tour as memorable as possible. During my stay, I discovered numerous handy amenities, which include free internet access, on-site restaurants, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, free parking, meeting on-site facilities, a business center, a digital check-in area, a pet-friendly environment, meeting rooms, digital key, and a concierge.
Feel at Home and Main Amenities
I was pleasantly surprised to find everything I wanted both as a tourist and business traveler. For sure, Hyatt Regency Dallas is a home away from home as it offers a breakfast buffet, coffee shop, fitness center, outdoor pool, terrace, valet parking service, business center, self-parking, daily housekeeping, three restaurants, and lounge/bar.
Whether you’re planning to travel alone or with your lovely younger family, you’ll enjoy your stay at this top-notch Downtown Dallas hotel. With my younger family, I enjoyed a hot tub, private bathroom, flat-screen TVs with premium channels, a garden, free infant/cots beds, adjoining/connecting rooms, and children stay-free property conditions.
Food and Drink
The Hyatt Regency Dallas features multiple on-site dining options for visitors to pick from; my personal favorite was the Centennial restaurant located inside the 28-story atrium. The restaurant is open each day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and serves several local dishes, including Texas cuisine.
To conclude, the variety and upscale nature of dining experiences at Hyatt Regency might be broader than what Hampton Inn & Suites Dallas Downtown Texas and similar accommodations without a high price tag provide.
I also discovered some great dining options that offer a comprehensive Italian menu, including Pizza and Pasta, in a soothing atmosphere for dinner. These restaurants are McDonald’s, The Owners Box, Coffee’s Post, Bob’s Steak & Chop House, and Urban Coffee.
The Monduel's, which houses big-screen TVs, was my favorite spot to grab my drink of choice and some delicious food for lunch or dinner. Anytime I wanted to have something different, my final destination was always the Birds Bourbon & Brews, as it provided Asian and Southern flavors, along with a comprehensive Texas beer list.
Room service is available between 6:00 AM and midnight, and Coffee's Post offers Starbucks coffee and different takeout options.
Alternatively, if you want a fully-equipped kitchen to prepare your own meals, staying in apartment-type hotels such as the Jurny Downtown Dallas Apartments Texas could be an option worth looking into.
Room Options: Large, Modern, and Elegant
Available in different types, guest rooms at Hyatt Regency are beautifully designed and spacious. With proximity to Trinity River, these comfortable rooms come with a stylized aerial-view print of the entire area with the beautiful river running via shimmering gold. I can only compare these rooms to Tetris-like physiques impressed with well-crafted heads of the beds and behind bedside tables. However, this contemporary design touch is more stylish than it sounds, but if you want a more luxurious and upscale accommodations with classic decor I recommend the Adolphus Autograph Collection Dallas Texas hotel.
Each room and suite provides the opportunity to enjoy free Wi-Fi, a coffee maker, a large-screen HDTV, and a separate lounging area. With Hyatt Plug Panel and an oversized working area, you'll stay productive and mobile while residing in modern rooms with easy access to the Reunion Tower and beautiful city views. The Studio Suite room was a perfect option during my first business visit. With extra space, expensive bay windows, a separate sitting area, a sleeper sofa, and one king bed, the Studio Suite had everything I needed for a wonderful stay.

What’s Nearby and Getting Around
Based on my first-hand experience, Hyatt Regency is near amazing buildings, transport solutions, tourist attractions, and dining options. In this hotel, I found an experience none other; from the interior to the exterior, as the facility is nothing short of an amazing destination.
Most great facilities and attractions are within a three- to eighteen-minute walk, including Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, American Airlines Center, and Dallas World Aquarium.
Other nearby properties and attractions include the Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas Market Center, Cotton Bowl, Fair Park, and Dallas Zoo. Regarding getting around, several stations and airports are available, including Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, Love Field Airport, West End Station, and Convention Center Station.
Pets and Children
Pets allowed; a maximum of two dogs per room; service animals welcome; water and food bowls available. Children up to eighteen years stay free when using existing facilities in the guardian/parent's room.

Cleaning
Most guest reviews agree with me that Hyatt Regency follows Safe Travels WTTC-Global and GBAC STAR Hyatt industry and standard cleaning and disinfection practices. The management ensures that sheets and towels are cleaned at more than 60oC, high-touch surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, and disinfectant is used to clean the whole property.
Required at Check-in and Special Instructions
During check-in, I was requested to provide a credit or debit card deposit for incidental charges and a government-issued photo ID. The minimum age is eighteen years and above. The friendly front desk staff greets all registered guests on arrival.
