San Francisco is among the best cities to visit. From Alcatraz and Golden Gate Bridge to PIER 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf, there’s much to enjoy in and around the city.

Found on the northeastern tip of San Francisco’s peninsula, the Hyatt Centric Fisherman’s Wharf treated me to some of the most comfortable amenities in the city’s most excellent tourist draws.

So, whether you’re looking for a place to relax and unwind, a romantic getaway, or a place to go for your honeymoon, this Fisherman's Wharf hotel is a great choice.

I’ll show you around this top Fisherman's Wharf hotel so that you can have it as an option during your time in San Francisco.

Let’s get to the review.

The Hyatt Centric Fisherman’s Wharf San Francisco Review

Located at the heart of the historic Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco, the Hyatt Centric Fisherman’s Wharf San Francisco, San Francisco, USA, sits close to great attractions like Chinatown, North Beach, and Ghirardelli Square. The hotel has 316 suites and guest rooms, a fully equipped fitness center, 19,000 square feet of conference space, and an outdoor heated pool.

What’s more?

The hotel has modern decor, an iPod docking station, and a Bluetooth-enabled media hub available in all rooms. Plus, there are spa toiletries included. Each Hyatt Fisherman's Wharf room has mini-fridges, coffee makers, and laptop-sized safes.

The hotel facilities

What I appreciated most was the around-the-clock front desk, which is among many of the hotel’s convenient amenities, allowing you to check in anytime. Other additional services I appreciated included concierge, currency exchange, and dry cleaning. Furthermore, there’s a cash machine on-site if you run short.

I enjoyed the famed cable cars and trolley buses within a two-minute walk from Hyatt. And that’s not all. I also enjoyed the sweet treats at Ghirardelli Square, a five-minute walk from the hotel. It takes 10 minutes to walk to PIER 39, and the Golden Gate Bridge is 4 miles away.

I also loved this San Francisco hotel because after arriving, getting to the hotel was only 15 miles away from the San Francisco International Airport.

The Hyatt Centric Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco: What to Expect

Based on my firsthand experience at the hotel, here’s what to expect:

Booking

The hotel is a 5-star hotel, and because it belongs to the Hyatt group of hotels, loyalty club members can earn or redeem their points here. The redemption rate is 1.58 cents per point value. Check out Hyatt’s best rate guarantee for price adjustments during booking, and it could save you a ton of money.

Guest Rooms

I loved that the guest rooms have rich chocolate furnishings that bring out a contemporary vibe, plus soft white accents that you would love. The accommodation features a view of the pool, city, or courtyard. Other modern amenities include a flat-screen TV, individual temperature control, a coffee maker, and a marble bathroom with bathrobes.

Location and Parking

Drawing from my experience, the Hyatt Centric is at a great location, and you’ll find a cable car stop three blocks away. Also, there are major tourist attractions nearby. Enjoy a complimentary town car service to the Financial District on all weekday mornings with notice given in advance.

  • 24-hour valet parking costs $59
  • Car service at a fee
  • Airport (San Francisco and Oakland International Airports) shuttle at a fee

Dining

Home to the Brick and Beam restaurant, the hotel serves American cuisine during lunch and dinner. I enjoyed an on-site extensive breakfast menu at the Wardroom from 6:30 AM - 10:30 AM. I didn’t want to leave my room in the morning on specific days during my stay in San Francisco. Therefore, I took advantage of their room service, available between 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM.

Pool

Enjoy the heated pool in the courtyard between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM. It’s important to note that there’s no lifeguard on site.

Fitness

I loved that there’s a 24-hour fitness center available to all guests, and it’s equipped with free weights, stationary bikes, treadmills, and yoga mats. The facility’s YogaAway program lets guests take advantage of the fitness program on TV with guided fitness programs.

Other aspects I got to find out regarding the hotel include the following:

  • Kids’ favorable amenities and interesting attractions
  • Non-smoking rooms
  • Facilities suitable for disabled guests
  • Family rooms

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Free wifi
  • A hot tub and heated outdoor pool fitted with a whirlpool
  • Conveniently located a short distance from Pier 39
  • It’s a pet-friendly hotel
  • On-site parking with valet service
