Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay Florida is a resort-style hotel convenient to the Tampa International Airport, and downtown Tampa surrounds guests in nature on a 35-acre flora preserve. The facility is designed to allow every guest to unwind and renew, whether staying in Tampa for business or leisure reasons.
It’s located on a nature preserve at the Tampa Bay edge, beside the Tampa International Airport. Besides the highway and saltwater mangroves, many things don't surround the hotel. Two beautiful shopping plazas are only ten minutes-drive away, and you can reach downtown Tampa in less than fifteen minutes.
One thing I really liked is that I only required a 20-minute drive to reach almost all nearby attractions, including the Florida Aquarium, Tampa Museum of Art, Tampa Busch Gardens Theme Park, Lowry Park Zoo, and Tampa Bay Times Sports Arena. The free hotel airport shuttle transports guests to the Tampa International Airport and the neighboring shopping malls but doesn't reach downtown.
You’ll need to look for taxi services if you want to visit some nice beaches situated approximately 45 minutes-drive away from the hotel on the Gulf Coast.

After staying at this hotel several times, my research indicates that its amenities are designed to meet and even exceed guest expectations. The front desk team members are warm and polite without being stuffy.
The hotel features two sections, the main tower with most rooms and a casita area with an artificial beach, two tennis courts, secondary swimming pools, and Oystercatchers restaurant. The noiseless section is located on the opposite side of the saltwater mangrove forest, which is a few minutes walk away via a short path.
The main tower features all amenities for young adults, including game rooms, top-notch restaurants, overall friendly services, easy checking, free Wi-Fi, a spa, a sauna, a tower pool, and a hot tub, to mention just a few.

When it comes to main amenities, I enjoyed everything from spacious rooms to a breakfast buffet. During my stay at this facility, I discovered that nothing is within a walking distance apart from the saltwater mangrove forest. Some nearby features include Tampa Bay, Heart of Tampa, International Plaza and Bay Street, Tampa Riverwalk, Tampa University, Tampa Port, Tampa General Hospital, and Zoo Tampa at Lowry Park.
Getting around is easier thanks to several airport transportation options, including TPA Tampa Intl. Florida, PIE St. Petersburg Clearwater Intl. Florida, SPG Albert O. Knight Florida. Tampa Union Station is available within a twelve-minute drive.
Cleaning and Safety Measures
Just like its sister hotels, including Hyatt Place Tampa Airport/Westshore, Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay Florida follows the GBAC STAR Hyatt standard cleaning and disinfection practices. I loved the enhanced safety practices in place, including towels and sheets washed at 60oC or 140oF or hotter, disinfecting and cleaning high-touch surfaces, and using disinfectants to clean the entire room and property.
I have always stayed safe at Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay Florida hotel thanks to the best safety measures and practices in place. These practices include contactless check-in, and check-out, protective shields at major contact areas, and guest rooms kept vacant for one day between visits. Personal protective equipment for staff, temperature checks, masks, hand sanitizer, and individually-wrapped food and drink options are available.
Food and Drink
The Grand Hyatt allowed me to enjoy some of my favorite dishes and drinks. The facility has three restaurants, plus a lobby restaurant and bar that serves bar food and drinks. All of these dining options offer seafood specialties, ranging from simple breakfasts to lunch dishes.
Some of the restaurants that I managed to visit and enjoy their dining offerings are Whiskey Joe's, Columbia Restaurant Café, Bahama Breeze, World of Beer, and the Gasparilla Bar. The best thing is that they're all between a three and seven-minute drive.
Required at Check-in and Special Instructions
One thing I found special and unique is that the minimum check-in age was 18 years. Other requirements at check-in remain constant compared to other facilities, including a debit card, credit card, or cash deposit for any incidental charges and a government-issued photo ID. The front desk team will greet all guests with respect on arrival.
