Located in a towering skyscraper, the Four Seasons Hotel, Houston, may be a little older than other hotels in the luxury chain but make no mistake. The property oozes an unimaginable upscale vibe, accentuated by wood-framed elements in the lobby and restaurant, plus velvety chairs and lounge-style booths.

Walking into the hotel felt like stepping into a posh club, and the interior straddles the line between Texas contemporary and traditional. I immediately knew I was in one of the most exclusive hotels in Houston

My Four Seasons Hotel, Houston, Texas review explores the facility’s exceptional amenities that are second to nothing I reviewed in Bayou City.

Four Seasons Hotel Houston Texas Review

Even though the Post Oak Hotel at Uptown has raised the bar in the hospitality industry on all extravagant things, here in Four Seasons you'll get urban sophistication right in the heart of this diverse city. Found in downtown Houston’s business district, the Four Seasons Hotel, Houston, USA, has one-way streets occupied by corporate buildings, bars, restaurants, and shops surrounding it.

Let’s explore what you should look forward to at the hotel:

Rooms

During my stay, I booked the Cabana Room, which features a private patio with a pool view and luxurious linens and furnishings.

At the 404-room hotel, the suites and rooms vary widely. Standard guest rooms include minibars, safes, umbrellas, slippers, plush bathrobes, night turndown room service, free Wi-Fi, and iHome docking stations. Guests check in at 3:00 PM and check out by noon.

For early and late departures, you must make arrangements in advance. Failure to do so means that the hotel stores your bags and makes the fitness facilities available if you need to freshen up.

There are seven  guest room options to choose from:

  • Premier Executive Suite

  • Executive Suite

  • Cabana Room

  • Corner Room

  • Premier Room

  • Deluxe Room

  • Downtown Room

The four specialty suites are the Ambassador, State, Presidential, and Penthouse Suite.

Other accommodation options include six residential suites and six accessible rooms.

Generally, the rooms feature a neutral color scheme, with crisp white linens, cream-colored cushions, and patterned (beige) rugs. The suites have additional bathrooms, separate bedrooms, an expansive living area, and a dining room.

Other additions to the rooms include the following:

  • Sofa beds
  • Massive flat-screen TVs
  • Beverage minibars
  • High-end coffee makers
  • Glass-topped cabinetry
  • Round dining tables

One and two-bedroom residences are smaller, but I noticed they have much better furniture and more artwork (small sculptures, prints, and vases). All bathrooms have marble floors and countertops, with shower and hot tub combos.

Amenities

There are a variety of drinking and dining venues on-site. They include the following:

  • Rooftop resort-style pool

  • Spa

  • Ample meeting space at the business center

  • Fitness center

  • Electric vehicle charging zone

  • Free Wi-Fi

  • Complimentary amenities like free welcoming gifts for kids

  • Bar/lounge

  • Books/DVDs/Kids Music

  • Pet-friendly environment

  • Laundry service

It’s worth noting that this hotel is child-friendly to the umpteenth degree and has activities like pizza-making classes, movies by the pool, and mommy-and-me yoga, which you won't find in a more budget-friendly hotel like the Embassy Suites by Hilton Houston I reviewed earlier. Also, the spa staff understands their trade so well they cured whatever ailed me.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Rooftop pool with a patio
  • Located in a convenient downtown area with many attractions close by
  • Fitness center
  • Meeting rooms equipped with all the necessary equipment
  • Free Wi-Fi

Cons

  • Some rooms lack coffee makers

What Sets the Four Seasons Hotel Houston Texas Apart?

Four Seasons is among the world’s most successful hotel chains for a reason: they do everything exceptionally well. They claim high customer loyalty because they have maintained consistency.

I experienced outstanding service, beautiful hotel decor, exceptional golf, a full-service spa, and dining options.

I love that Four Seasons isn’t only a luxury brand, but is known to offer above-par services. But their consistency gives them an edge. And despite their expansion over the years, there’s no room for underwhelming performance.
